Mr Carrothers was always professional and sympathetic to my situation and the pain I was encountering when I went to see him. He explained what he thought would have to happen after explaining the results from the X-ray and the MRI. When I was hospital he came to see me before and after the operation and again was very reassuring and sympathetic and when he said that the after care would be arranged by the staff and his secretary, I was contacted very quickly and didn't have to wait at all. Even though the post operative check up was delayed, he was very happy with the progress of my knee. He asked lots of questions and left the decision of an further injection up to me, but again reassured me that if there was any problem at any time we could get in contact with him. His secretary sent an appointment date within an hour of my being back at work. Overall I felt I received wonderful care and treatment from Mr Carrothers.

I find Mr Carrothers very straight forward to deal with, straight forward and direct, which suits my needs very well. I also like him.

I saw Mr Carrothers due to long term problems that I had with my knee. After a thorough examination and carefully explaining to me the options he was happy to listen to my concerns and help me reach the decision to have a total knee replacement. The operation was relatively painless and his consideration and concern was admirable. Older technology from a previous operation had caused further problems and through a series of 3 further operations Mr Carrothers was able to improve the motion of my knee. I have no problems whatsoever in recommending him, as a skilled, and genuinely kind surgeon, who is always seeking the best outcome possible.

He was my second Orthopaedic surgeon and I have to say the difference was amazing. Really listen to what I had to say and what the problem was and talked me and my family through all my options. Really would recommend.

Before seeing Mr Carrothers I was suffering with constant swelling, pain and reduced range of motion in my right knee, caused by loose bodies, a bucket tear in my lateral meniscus and osteophytes which had formed on my lateral femoral condyle, as a result of a previous surgery on a osteochondral defect in 2015. The best course of action was deemed to be surgery and this was performed without delay. I had a knee arthroscopy where I had the two loose bodies removed, chondroplasty and partial lateral meniscectomy. I am extremely happy with the results as I am able to move around freely with a greater range of motion, no swelling and no pain. It also opens the possibility to play at a high level of sport again, which I did not think would be possible following my initial injury in 2015.
